Want to look Taller?

We know that we petite women are not going to grow any taller...but we can create a taller appearance by practicing easy styling tricks.
  1. Stand up straight. Posture can make a huge difference in how others perceive you and your height. Sit up straight too. Not only will you seem taller, but you'll also appear more alert and engaged.
  2. Wear high heels. The higher the heel, the taller you'll look. To look taller, wear the highest heels that you've able to walk gracefully in. If you wear heels that are too high for you, you'll appear awkward, and that's what people will notice, rather than your height. If really high heels aren't for you, you may find that wearing platforms with a medium heel will give you the lift you need. Even low heels will add a bit of height.
  3. Style your hair so that it has some height and fullness around the crown. You don't have to have a big hair look, but avoid flat and smooth styling on top.
  4. Use color to enhance the illusion of height. Wearing a monochromatic outfit is a very effective way to create a longer look. Dressing all in one color helps create a vertical line, which will make you look taller. This strategy works best with dark colors, such as black or navy.
If you don't want to go for the complete head-to-toe color scheme, you can make your legs appear longer by matching legwear to your shoe color. This approach works most successfully with shoes that are neutral colors, such as black, navy, gray, taupe, tan, or brown.
  5. Create vertical lines with your clothing and accessories, and avoid horizontal lines. Vertical lines make short women look thinner and taller; horizontal lines do the opposite. If they're going up and down, seam lines, designs in prints, stripes, trims, and garment silhouettes can all be slimming and make you look taller. Stay away from horizontal lines, such as horizontal stripes on garments, chokers, and ankle straps, unless you do something to diminish their effect.
  6. Wear garments with V-necklines. A V-neckline creates a vertical line and draws attention to the face, thus making the wearer look taller.
