Use Vitamins Good For Hair Loss Treatment

By Shelly Maxim

Eating good foods and taking vitamins are necessary for growing healthy hair. Consuming the right foods is a norm in most cultures, unlike western society. People who eat nutritiously tend not to suffer from this common problem. Nonetheless, hair loss treatment might be as simple as taking vitamins, A, B, C, and E on a daily basis.

Vitamin A is known for its production of sebum, which prevents dry scalp. People deficient in sebum will also suffer from thick scalp and dandruff. Other things that prevent vitamin A absorption is second hand smoke, aspirin and some medications.

Those having excessive amounts of sebum will find follicles are blocked. An overdoes of the A vitamin will cause problems as well. To prevent overdose, try to get this nutritious value through foods like oranges, carrots, squash, mango and sweet potatoes.

Another excellent choice for treatments is Vitamin B. This vitamin is popular from preventing hair loss. It creates hemoglobin, giving the scalp oxygen to breathe and promote healthy growth. Folic Acid and Vitamin B-6 are the two B vitamins needed for this kind of treatment.

Try foods rich in protein to obtain B-6. The scalp gets double treatment this way because protein is also needed for proper treatment. Foods with these essentials are Garbanzo beans, oatmeal, ready made cereals, pork loin and roast beef.

Those deficient of Folic Acid will most likely have scalp problems. Folic Acid is a version of folate, also known as the B-9 vitamin. B-9 is water soluble and is unable to store itself in the body. If nutrients are not used immediately it will leave the body through the urine. Folate has to be replenished consistently through supplements or foods. B-9 can be found in foods like chickpeas, lentils, medium papaya, mushrooms, oranges, tomato juice, boiled asparagus, collard greens, melons and lemons. The National Institutes of Health suggests adults should consume 400 mcg folic acid a day, and pregnant women 600 mcg a day. It is not recommended to exceed 1000 mcg per day.

Vitamin E increases oxygen to assist with good blood flow and circulation in the scalp. People suffering from a lack there of has lost the ability to absorb necessary oils and fats. The problem can be corrected by taking vitamin E supplements. Also, eating cereals, almonds, turnip greens, corn oil and safflower oil helps too.

Vitamin C is known to produce collagen, and strengthens by preventing damage and split-ends. The C vitamin can be obtained through supplements or foods like red sweet peppers, apples and oranges just to name a few. Success with this treatment begins with developing a healthy scalp and eating the right foods.
